877 Utility Value of Colonoscopy in the Over 80's

Abstract Aim To audit the rationale and efficacy of colonoscopy in over 80’s a year period at Southport hospital which caters to geriatrically skewed population. Currently protocol driven diagnostic pathways often lead direct triaging patients endoscopy preventing assessment biological age patient, practicalities procedure risk-benefit ratio. Results Pre-colonoscopy demographics showed that anaemia (31%) change bowel habit (26%) were most common indications for colonoscopy. Completion rates, yield complication rates evaluated. rate 73%.
